Spirituality Personified: Holy Faces by Lebanese Photographer Omar Read
Omar Reda is a Lebanese creative director from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Through his photography, he aims to capture incredible moments of beauty from the many different places around the world that he travels to. One type of beauty in particular that he aims to capture are these incredible portraits of holy faces in an attempt to learn about other cultures and their traditions.
On a recent trip to Nepal, he was able to photograph a series of Hindu religious men in their traditional garb and painted faces, and was blown away by the beauty and serenity in the portraits of these men. Says Reda of this series, "What attracted me about the Sadhus, the Hindu holy men, was the way they painted their faces. This ritual is called Tilak, which stands for the forehead.
